About Peach + Honey Studio

Emily and her first quilt

Hi there! My name is Emily and I'm the owner of Peach + Honey Studio. I took my first quilting class in 2020 (what a year!) and have been hooked ever since. I fell in love with the joy of creating something beautiful from scraps of fabric. Having a stressful job, I've always searched for a creative outlet that would bring some calming aspects into my life. It has taken me what feels like forever to find a craft that I love and want to continue to do. My boyfriend always jokes that my hobby is starting hobbies. So yeah - I kind of had a reputation but really, I was just trying to find my thing! It’s only taken me 30 some years and a pandemic to slow me down and figure it out and now here we are!

Buying fabric might just be the BEST part of quilting or anything sewing related for that matter. However, when I first started quilting, I would try and avoid any type of patterned fabric. Crazy, right?! I had this idea in my mind that patterned fabric looked old and that wasn’t the type of quilting and sewing I wanted to do. When I finally started getting into more modern quilt patterns, I realized “oh I actually need to mix this up a bit and add in some beautiful patterned fabric”. I can’t even begin to put into words how I felt when I finally found fabric that was patterned and falling so in love with it. Spooky ‘n Sweeter. That’s all I need to say and if you don’t know what I’m talking about do a quick search and you’ll see. I saw this and as a massive lover of all things Halloween I was SO in love I can’t even begin to explain it. I’ve never seen such cute freaking fabric. And then the gates of heaven opened, and it was just bolts and bolts of perfectly delicate patterned fabric. Just kidding – but it seriously had my creative side yearning for more.

On a more personal note, I am a frenchie rescue mom and love my two frenchies more than anything! I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA but have moved around a bit the past few years. I was living in New York and working in NYC for awhile and recently moved to Ohio for a slower, more enjoyable pace of life and being closer to my family. I am a 200 hour registered yoga teacher and that had to be one of the more challenging things I've completed in my lifetime.

For the first time in my life, I have a lot of goals for this page and how I want to continue to grow. There are so many things that I am taking the time to learn to hopefully expand and be able to share my creative side with the world. It’s something I’ve been trying to do for ages but struggled finding something I am so passionate about. I would be so grateful if you came along for the ride and see where this new journey takes me!

With love,
