My Quilting Journey

Hello! I’m Emily, the owner of Peach + Honey Studio, based in Baltimore, Maryland. I started quilting in 2020 (yes, that year!) and have been hooked ever since. From the very first quilt, I was captivated by the process of creating something beautiful from scraps of fabric. After years of searching for a creative outlet, quilting became the one that brought me peace and joy. My fiance jokes that my hobby is starting hobbies—I've tried a lot over the years, but quilting finally stuck!

One of my favorite parts of quilting is buying fabric (who else agrees?!). When I first began, I avoided patterned fabrics, thinking they looked outdated. But once I started exploring modern quilt patterns, I realized how crucial it was to mix beautiful prints into my work. I vividly remember falling in love with the Spooky ‘n Sweeter fabric, especially since I’m a huge fan of Halloween—it's where my creative journey took off. Suddenly, fabric stores felt like heaven, full of perfect prints waiting to be sewn together.

Alongside quilting, I’ve also fallen in love with longarm quilting, as well as making garments and bags. I’ve written two quilt patterns, and I’m always learning and growing in my craft. Outside of quilting, I’m a proud Frenchie mom, and my two pups mean the world to me. Originally from Pittsburgh, I’ve lived in New York and Ohio, but I’m happy to call Baltimore home now. I’m also a 200-hour registered yoga teacher—a challenging but rewarding journey in its own right.

I have so many goals for Peach + Honey Studio and am excited to continue expanding my creative work. It’s taken me a while to find something I truly love, and now that I have, I’m ready to share it with the world. I’d be so grateful if you joined me on this journey to see where it takes me!
